Serie Vera Stanhope. Detective Inspector Vera Stanhope becomes involved when her neighbour goes missing. Her search leads to the Writer’s House, a secluded country retreat for aspiring authors. When a man is found murdered and Vera’s neighbour is discovered nearby with a knife, she becomes the prime suspect. Although Vera is personally involved and should step aside, she cannot resist investigating a killer who appears to be turning fictional murder into reality.
