As a young man travelling in Spain, Sami Kierce woke up covered in blood with a knife in his hand and his girlfriend Anna lying dead beside him. He fled. Twenty-two years later, Kierce is a private investigator and new father in New York. While teaching a night class, he sees a woman he is certain is Anna. When she runs away, Kierce begins an investigation that forces him to confront the mystery that has haunted him for more than two decades.
