Beschrijving
The Bleeding of the Stone tells the story of Asouf, a solitary Tuareg shepherd living in the Libyan desert in deep harmony with nature and animals. His peaceful existence is threatened when violent hunters enter the desert in search of rare prey. Through this conflict, Ibrahim al-Koni explores themes such as the destruction of nature, greed, spirituality, isolation, and the relationship between humans and the natural world. The novel combines poetic language with mythological and philosophical elements rooted in desert culture.
